FAQs

How often will we meet for therapy?

I find that weekly appointments allow us to build momentum in our work together, and solidify your commitment to the process. Once we get into a rhythm, I'm happy to discuss the option of bi-monthly sessions. I do not offer monthly sessions.

What is the typical duration of treatment?

It depends on your needs. Having said that, the type of therapy I offer tends to be long term (1 year or more). Relational, psychodynamic therapy utilizes our relationship as a tool, which can take time to develop. If you're looking for a short-term, structured method, I am happy to provide you with a referral.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means that I do not bill directly to your insurance provider. Payment is due at the end of each session, at which point I provide you with a superbill. Superbills can be submitted to your insurance company to receive out-of-network benefits. I recommend contacting your insurance carrier to inquire about what out-of-network mental health benefits you're entitled to under your plan.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you ever need to cancel an appointment, I require a minimum of 24 hours notice. With the exception of emergencies, the full cost of the session must be paid for late cancellations or no-shows.

What if you’re not the right “fit” for me?

I will check in with you after the first several sessions about how it’s feeling to work together. After a few sessions, we should have a sense of whether or not we’re the right fit to work together. If not, I am happy to refer you to another therapist who might be better suited to help you.
